EVIL: SIN

"If God created shadows, it is in order to highlight the light" St. John XXIII

Evil is not a place; it is a condition. It is the absence of God, estrangement from God. Evil is a reality that forms part of life. There is life because there is death, there is good because there is evil. There is light because there is darkness. Evil exists, and it is acts when we move away from God. Evil and hell are real, physical, existential experiences. Hell and evil are the consequences of sin. It is a rupture between God and the individual, a rupture of communion with God, a rupture between LIFE and ETERNAL LIFE, which can only be corrected through the sacrament of confession and forgiveness from God.

When does sin exist? When our acts have a consequence of injustice and pain; when our acts untie an expansive wave of suffering in oneself and in others. All acts have a consequence and therefore every act that goes against the laws and rules of the Church and against man is sin. All acts that generated dynamic of suffering and self-pain or to others is sin. What is sin? Sin forms part of life and is inherent to our human condition and our limitation at the time of love. It is any voluntary act of words, works or omission that goes against God and in consequence against man is sin.

"Evil is nothing more than the corruption or loss of the characteristics that constitute every being. It is the harm that creatures suffer by virtue of their vulnerability". Saint Augustine of Hippo
